British Superbike:Jon Kirkham set to comeback

Jon Kirkham is vowing to come back stronger at Snetterton next weekend (25/26/27 May) as he bids to make amends for missing out at the previous round at Oulton Park after suffering a huge 150mph crash in the opening race that left him sidelined for the remainder of the event.
Kirkham had been running fourth and challenging for a podium position when he crashed at Water Tower causing the race to be red flagged, but escaped with just concussion which meant he was unable to take any further part in the two remaining races of the weekend. However, having recovered in the break between rounds he is keen to reclaim a top six position in the standings at Snetterton after three non-point scores at Oulton Park.
Kirkham said: "It has been a good start to the season for us and at Oulton Park we were making good progress, well apart from lap nine of race one! We were pushing hard and to be honest we were not doing bad; it looked like it would be a good race for us. That came to an abrupt end and it was gutting for me to have missed the three races as that has dropped us down the order in the standings.
"The boys have been working flat out back at the team HQ in Louth ready for the Snetterton round and looking at what we can improve so we are all set for the weekend. I am on the road to recovery, it did take me a few days to feel like myself again but I was just lucky to get away with what I did and I am looking forward to getting back out and riding again.
"Snetterton should be good for us and I went well there last year; I qualified third and got a sixth place. This year with Samsung Honda hopefully we can get a good set up and claw some points back to get inside the top six in the standings."
