ARSENAL: FOCUS ON HULL CITY

Arsene Wenger wants his team to focus on their Wednesday test against Hull City rather than talk of a Premier League title triumph.

Victory over Cardiff City on Saturday moved the Gunners seven points clear at the top of the table, although that lead was cut to four points by Chelsea a day later.

Wenger's men have not won the title since 2004 and the Frenchman insists that his sole target at present is ensuring that his side claim their sixth straight home Premier League win against Steve Bruce's Tigers - who beat Liverpool last time out.

"It's a bit early to make a prediction on the title," he remarked to reporters. "If we can maintain our concentration, we have a chance.

REVIEW: MAN U - EVERTON

The Red Devils boss took over from Sir Alex Ferguson in July after an 11-year stint at Goodison Park, during which he established the Merseysiders as a top-half Premier League club.

The Scot endured a tough start to life at United, winning just three of his first eight Premier League matches in charge, but a 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions, which has stretched more than two months, has eased the pressure and seen his side rise to eighth in the table.

Any finish outside the top four would be unacceptable for reigning champions United but they are now just three points off local rivals Manchester City, who sit third.

They came from behind twice to claim a 2-2 draw at Tottenham on Sunday, with striker Wayne Rooney scoring both of United's goals.

Rooney has netted 10 times in 16 appearances for his club this season and is in excellent form - something that will delight Moyes given the absence of Robin van Persie, who is battling toe and groin injuries.

Ryukyu interest in more Malaysian talent

FC Ryukyu head coach Norihiro Satsukawa has revealed that he was interested in lining up a move for more Malaysian players to play for the club in the future.

"If there are good (Malaysian) players, we will tell our management..If we don't, I hope the current players will be able to bring back what they have learned in Japan for the betterment of Malaysian football," Satsukawa said in a press conference earlier today at the FAM Headquarters in Kelana Jaya.

The J-League Division 3 club made waves when they signed two Malaysian players early this year - tricky winger Wan Zack Haikal and fullback Nazirul Naim.

Satsukawa also reaffirmed Wan Zack Haikal's status as a pivotal member of his squad while conceding that Nazirul Naim should be given more time to adapt.

TMJ - NORFARHAN - PBSNT???

The president of Johor Football Association, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ), has warned Terengganu striker Norfarhan Mohammad to pay back JDT before he starts playing with other teams.
According to TMJ, he does not wish to have players who are not committed to the team.  Furthermore he insisted that everything he has done so far is for the sake of the fans, and if players feel like they do not want to represent JDT then they can leave.
Speaking to Berita Harian, TMJ said “There is no problem if Norfarhan wants to play with other teams but he has to respect and be polite. He should have paid back the contract he already had with us, and when everything is settled, he can play with his respective team.
“I am not stopping Norfarhan from playing with the other team but he or the state association who wants his service must pay RM190,000, which was received by Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) when he came here, and also a contract worth RM300,000 must also be paid either by him or the state’s association,” added TMJ.
The Young Prince of Johor also added that the best striker in the M-League for 2013 had signed a contract with JDT with monthly salaray of RM25,000, but at the same time he also signed a contract with the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT).

Why Shampoos Are a Waste of Money

It’s the dirty little secret many shampoo companies don’t want you to know.  When you wash your hair with certain traditional shampoos, you may actually be stripping your hair and scalp of their natural oils.  Many shampoos usually rely on sodium laurel sulfate or other damaging detergents for cleansing.  While these generate a thick lather to clean hair, they can also create dryness, frizziness, dullness, and color fade.We then spend a fortune of time and money on products that are effectively undoing the damage caused by shampoo.

KELANTAN PAIR DUO - GHADDAR + FORKEY

It may only the first day of training for the FA Cup champions Kelantan, but new coach Steve Darby already has in mind what’s his main strikers will be for next season.
Without keeping any secrets, Darby stated that he will take a closer look at the combination of Mohammed Ghaddar and former Selangor striker Francis Forkey Doe, and see if he can partner them up with local strikers for the new season.
According to Sinar Harian, Darby said “I’ve seen how Ghaddar played two years ago and he is the kind of player with high individual skills. He managed to lose weight and he is really fit after playing for his national team. The same as Forkey Doe, as I hope he can keep scoring goals like this season. One of these two players, I will use them to play with our local striker as the rules only allowed us to play three import players in one match.”
Kelantan began their training for 2014 season without their import players as well as captain Badhri Radzi, Brendan Gan and Zairul Fitree.

THE GLADIATORS WILL STRIKE BACK!!!!

The Gladiators star striker is positive about his side’s chances of reaching the semi-final of the Malaysia Cup despite losing the first leg 1-0
Despite losing the first leg of their quarter-final 1-0 against league champions LionsXII, ATM FA forward Marlon James believes his side has what it takes to reach the semi-finals of the Malaysia Cup.
James, who was the top scorer in this season’s Malaysia Super League with 16 goals, barely had a sniff on goal against his opponents at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday night. But the giant target-man is optimistic about his side’s chances of progressing.
“We have to be positive as we are playing at home,” he said after the game.
“If we want to get to the semi-final we have to score two goals. But we’re feeling positive as other than the goal [conceded], we are pleased with the performance today.”
The 36-year-old did feel that they should not have conceded the way that they did, which was via a corner, but was pleased at how they managed to keep the LionsXII players at bay.
“We came here with a game plan and we knew we had to keep very focused on their set-pieces,” Marlon explained.
“That was probably the only disappointment [conceding the goal]. We made better opportunities and we had some chances that we should’ve taken.
“But overall we were happy [with the performance], especially in the second half as we didn’t let them in behind much."
Looking forward to the second leg, the Saint Vincent and the Grenandines player is confident that it will be a totally different affair.

AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL 2ND LEG RESULT

ACL QF (2nd leg): Lekhwiya 1-4 Guangzhou E. (1-6 agg.)

Doha:Two goals in two first half minutes effectively sealed Guangzhou Evergrande’s passage to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League as Marcello Lippi’s side completed a 6-1 aggregate win with a comprehensive 4-1 success over Lekhwiya on Wednesday.
Dario Conca and Elkeson – who both also struck in the first leg in Guangzhou in August – scored in the 14th and 16th minutes to end the game as a contest and ensure Guangzhou become the first Chinese semi-finalists in the AFC Champions League since Shenzhen Jianlibao in 2005.

Muriqui (Luiz Guilherme da Conceição Silva) added a third to claim his tournament-leading ninth goal of the campaign in the 31st minute as Guangzhou showed their class in the opening half before Nam Tae-hee netted a consolation for the home side five minutes into the second period and Elkeson (Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso) claimed his second – and his side’s fourth – in the 72nd minute.

Guangzhou had few problems against a Lekhwiya side that struggled to match the quality of the Chinese side’s South American front three and Lippi’s team will go into next week’s semi-final in a confident frame of mind after a commanding performance.

A foul on Elkeson close to the touchline on the left side of the Lekhwiya penalty are in the 14th minute put the home team on the defensive and, as Conca sent a low, left-footed effort curling towards goal, the ball was missed by everyone before finding its way into the back of the net.

ACL QF (2nd leg): Buriram Utd 1-2 Esteghlal (1-3 agg.)

Buriram: Hanif Omranzadeh and Andranik Teymourian scored in the second half as Iran champions Esteghlal advanced to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League 3-1 on aggregate after recording a 2-1 comeback win over Thailand’s Buriram United in Wednesday’s second leg.
A 38th minute header from Buriram defender Osmar Barba had cancelled out Esteghlal’s slender one-goal advantage from last month’s first leg in Tehran.

But after Omranzadeh bundled home at the start of the second half at Buriram Stadium, Teymourian sealed Esteghlal’s passage with a spectacular long-range strike in stoppage time as the two-time Asian Club Championship winners remained oncourse to add to the titles won in 1970 and 1991 and join Korea Republic’s Pohang Steelers as the only three-time continental champions.

With the match being played amid a carnival atmosphere created by the energetic home support, Esteghlal midfielder Teymourian created the first effort on goal after just five minutes as his rising half volley from the edge of the Buriram area was comfortably dealt with goalkeeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen.

Buriram, though, remained the more adventurous of the two as the home side looked to quickly wipe out their one-goal deficit from the first leg, but Alejandro Menendez’s charges struggled to convert several seemingly promising opportunities into an effort on goal.

ACL QF (2nd leg): Al Shabab 2-2 Kashiwa (3-3 agg.)

Riyadh: A second-half header by Naoya Kondo proved decisive as Kashiwa Reysol became the first Japanese club since 2009 to reach the AFC Champions League semi-finals when they defeated Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab on away goals on Wednesday.
The central defender met Jorge Wagner’s corner in the 73rd minute to give his side a 2-1 lead at the King Fahd International Stadium.

And although the home side levelled the score at 2-2 through Hassan Muath in the closing minutes, it was not enough to prevent Kashiwa from progressing to a last four meeting with Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

Naif Hazazi had put the hosts ahead with a powerful header in the 10th minute but the visitors quickly got back on level terms as Kwak Tae-hwi headed a Ryiochi Kurisawa cross into his own net just three minutes later.

Having played out a lively 1-1 draw in rainy Japan last month, both sides quickly got into their stride in Riyadh with neither willing to sit back in the opening minutes.

Al Shabab had the advantage of an away goal from the first leg and to the delight of their home fans, they took the aggregate lead after 10 minutes when Macnelly Torres’ corner from the right picked out Hazazi, who got between a pair of defender to meet the ball with a bullet header that flew past a helpless Takanori Sugeno into the right corner of the net.

ACL QF (2nd leg): FC Seoul 1-0 Al Ahli (2-1 agg.)

Seoul: A late strike from Dejan Damjanovic gave FC Seoul a 1-0 victory over Al Ahli in the second leg of the 2013 AFC Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday at Seoul World Cup Stadium and put the Korea Republic champions in the semi-final for the first time in their history with a 2-1 aggregate win.
The Montenegrin international striker, who spent a season with Al Ahli in 2006, netted the away goal in the 1-1 draw in Jeddah in the first leg in August and struck with just a minute of time remaining at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The game was tight and tense but Seoul had the lion’s share of chances with the visitors, finalists in 2012, struggling to create clear openings.
Aware of the hosts’ away goal advantage, Al Ahli started with ambition and aggression but after the opening few minutes, Seoul started to look dangerous, especially from a succession of corner kicks and free-kicks.
However, Kim Jin-gyu heading over from a Mauricio Molina cross was as close as the K-League Classic team came in the early exchanges.
The first clear opening came the way of the visitors in the 26th minute. Mustafa Al Bassas collected the ball just outside the area, turned past his marker and shot wide of Kim Yong-dae's right-hand post from 15 yards.
Seoul came closer seven minutes before the break. Cha Du-ri stormed into the box from the right-back position and the 2002 FIFA World Cup star managed to hit a floated cross from Molina over goalkeeper Abdullah Al Muaiouf, only to see the ball bounce back off the crossbar and cleared to safety.

UCL 2013-2014 : REPORT GROUP STAGE MATCH

CHELSEA 1 - 2 BASEL
Another masterful finish from Oscar just before half-time maintained his prolific strike rate in the competition and suggested the Blues would be rewarded with their customary first-day victory. However, the ever-dangerous Mohamed Salah curled in a 71st-minute equaliser, Marco Streller then rounding off Basel's fightback with a header from a corner.
This was not the script that had been promised beforehand. Chelsea had never met defeat on matchday one in 11 previous fixtures; indeed, nor had Mourinho in ten past campaigns. But for the strength of their defending when under pressure in the first half and also for their unyielding spirit, the Swiss titleholders deserved this first victory on English soil.
Chelsea gave first starts to summer recruits Willian and Marco van Ginkel and they showed up well as the blue shirts had Basel back-pedalling from the off.
A number of corners followed but worryingly for Mourinho's men no direct threat on the away goal ensued. At the same time Basel showed speed and enterprise on the break to suggest that they could make things difficult for the 2012 champions.

NAPOLI 2 - 1 DORTMUND
Gonzalo Higuaín's ninth goal in the competition – his first for Napoli – gave the hosts a 29th-minute lead before the 2013 runners-up were reduced to ten men when Roman Weidenfeller was dismissed on the stroke of half-time. An unstoppable free-kick from Lorenzo Insigne midway through the second half put the Serie A leaders in the driving seat, but a Camilo Zúñiga own goal set up a grandstand finish with Napoli just holding out.
Both coaches played their part in delivering a spectacle with two attack-minded sides sent into action, and it was Dortmund who seized the early initiative. The home fans were beginning to get nervous until Insigne flashed a shot wide and Higuaín then had them on their feet in anticipation as he skipped past Mats Hummels, only for Neven Subotić to get in a desperate lunge to tease the ball away from the Argentina forward.
The game was swinging from end to end and Nuri Şahin's deflected shot was plucked out of the air by Pepe Reina, defusing the danger. There was greater concern when Robert Lewandowski broke through and was denied by Reina's legs before Zúñiga used his head to clear Marco Reus's effort.

MARSEILLE 1 - 2 ARSENAL
Arsène Wenger's men visited the Stade Vélodrome chasing a club-record tenth consecutive away success in all competitions, yet they looked unlikely to attain it until Walcott unleashed a superbly taken strike on 65 minutes. The hosts had created the lion's share of the chances, but their hunt for at least a share of the spoils was ended by the in-form Ramsey with seven minutes remaining, despite Jordan Ayew's late penalty.
Élie Baup cast his side as the section's underdogs yesterday, yet there was nothing humble about the way they twice made Wojciech Szczęsny work early on. First, the Polish No1 had to grapple André-Pierre Gignac's flicked effort and moments later he plucked a Mathieu Valbuena shot out of the air, before his counterpart Steve Mandanda snaffled up a Walcott half-volley.
That was a rare attempt from Arsenal, however, and Marseille were harrying them with impressive energy, an approach augmented by Valbuena's quick feet and bright ideas in dangerous areas. Dimitri Payet was catching the eye too, and the French international almost served up the opener when his cross was headed wide by André Ayew.

PESTABOLA MERDEKA MATCH #3 : MALAYSIA 3-0 THAILAND (NARATHIWAT FC)

Namun sentuhan penyudah Rozaimi mesti dipertajamkan lagi. Pertemuan Final Pestabola Merdeka kelak menemukan Malaysia u23 dengan Myanmar U23 pada 14 Sept 2013. AYUHLAH HARIMAU MALAYSIA, AYUH AYUH MALAYSIA....!!!!!!!!

PESTABOLA MERDEKA : PREVIOUS CHAMPIONS

MATCH #3 SCHEDULE : PESTABOLA MERDEKA

PESTABOLA MERDEKA:MALAYSIA 2 -1 MYANMAR

Junior Edstal membuktikan sememangnya dia layak menjadi Man Of The Match keranan usaha kerja keras naik turunnya samada skuad negara memperagakan corak serangan dan mengukuh pertahanan.

J-LEAGUE: MATCH # 24 HIGHLIGHT

Yuya Osako's sixth goal in four matches put Kashima Antlers on course for a convincing win over Kashiwa Reysol and returned them to the top of the chasing pack. It was a big weekend for Omiya, too, who ended their run of eight straight losses with victory over the leaders, Yokohama!
August was Yuya Osako's month with a hat trick against Sao Paulo, a rush of goals in the J. league and, only on Thursday, also the news that he had been called up again for Alberto Zaccheroni's national team squad. The 23-year old scored after 11 seconds against Shimizu on Wednesday but kept the fans waiting a little longer this time, firing Antlers in front in the 3rd minute of their 3-1 win over Reysol in Kashima. Osako's recent success has owed a lot to the quick supporting work of 21-year old Shoma Doi, making his fourth consecutive start, and Doi's sizzling shot produced that early corner. Kashima have the veterans, too, and 35-year old Juninho then slipped through twice the secure the win!

Nelsinho's resignation as Reysol's manager after the game came as a bolt from the blue. After taking over in 2009, he led Reysol to the J2 title in 2010, J. League championship in 2011 and Emperor's Cup last season. Their league form was disappointing earlier this year but a corner had been turned and Reysol were unbeaten in 9 consecutive league matches coming into the game in Kashima. Nelsinho spoke of not being able to settle for anything less than a high position in the league. Former Japan defender Masami Ihara moves up from head coach to caretaker manager for this week's Emperor's Cup opener against his old university, Tsukuba, and Yamazaki Nabisco Cup semi-final first leg match with Yokohama.

All of that, though, was far from everyone's else's minds as the game kicked off. The excitement started early with Doi dribbling forward and unleashing a powerful shot that Takanori Sugeno just pushed onto the bar and behind for a corner. The cross back from the short corner was knocked on by Kazuya Yamamura and Osako struck in sweetly on the turn. Antlers continued to cause Reysol all sorts of problems and next, in the 14th minute, Osako headed on a goal kick from the halfway line, Doi knocked down and Juninho raced on to finish with all the gathering momentum of his run.

Reysol were in trouble and Nelsinho responded by bringing Tatsuya Masushima on as an extra man at the back in the 18th minute. Sugeno had to save from Juninho again a couple of minutes later but Reysol did now begin to settle and produce opportunities of their own from the wings. The expected showdown between two of Zaccheroni's promising young strikers produced a goal apiece when Masato Kudo received from Junya Tanaka in the 53rd minute and netted a stunning shot from the edge of the box that left Hitoshi Sogahata blindsided and rooted to the spot. Jorge Wagner, especially, was also making rich use of space on the left and for a period it did look as if Reysol might get something out of the match after all.

Antlers, however, were not resting on their laurels. Juninho, the J. League's top scorer with 22 goals for Kawasaki Frontale in 2007, was on fire again as Doi and Mitsuo Ogasawara played the quick through balls and he rounded Masushima in the 66th minute to claim his own second of the day. Juninho might have made that a hat trick in the final minute of regulation time but headed over at Ogasawara's free kick.
Omiya Ardija's topsy-turvy season has produced their longest unbeaten run followed by their longest sequence of defeats. A 1-0 victory over Yokohama F-Marinos may now have restored some confidence. Their run of eight losses also started against Yokohama on July 13th. Yokohama had an early chance when Kosuke Nakamachi headed against the bar at Shunsuke Nakamura's free kick. A long through ball from Lucas Neill in the 42nd minute sent Milivoje Novakovic on his way for the goal, the Slovenian striker passing back at the finish for Daigo Watanabe to fire in low. Yokohama pushed hard for the equaliser but Omiya, themselves still top of the table when they lost in Yokohama in July, held on for their first clean sheet since May and a truly much needed boost.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima could have rejoined Yokohama at the top on 47 points but fell instead to their second straight defeat, 2-1 at home to FC Tokyo. That was manager Hajime Moriyasu's first ever experience of consecutive J1 losses at the helm and the champions have now taken only two points from their last four matches. Kazuma Watanabe seized on a loose moment in the Hiroshima defence in the 16th minute to steal the ball and net his 17th goal of the season. Last season's top scorer, Hisato Sato, replied at a 62nd minute corner, the ball flicked cleverly to him by Hwang Seok Ho, but Takuji Yonemoto had the final word in the 81st minute at a low cross from Keigo Higashi.

That left Urawa Reds as the big beneficiaries at the top. Their 1-0 home victory over Albirex Niigata lifted them above Hiroshima into second place, a point behind Yokohama, who had beaten them so thoroughly on Wednesday. Urawa's break came in the 62nd minute, Yosuke Kashiwagi, playing his 200th J1 game, dribbling and playing through for Shinzo Koroki to chip keeper Masaaki Higashiguchi. Urawa didn't allow in-form Niigata striker Kengo Kawamata even a single shot!

OOHHHH!! LIGA BOLASEPAK MALAYSIA....
