AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL 2ND LEG RESULT

ACL QF (2nd leg): Lekhwiya 1-4 Guangzhou E. (1-6 agg.)

Doha:Two goals in two first half minutes effectively sealed Guangzhou Evergrande’s passage to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League as Marcello Lippi’s side completed a 6-1 aggregate win with a comprehensive 4-1 success over Lekhwiya on Wednesday.
Dario Conca and Elkeson – who both also struck in the first leg in Guangzhou in August – scored in the 14th and 16th minutes to end the game as a contest and ensure Guangzhou become the first Chinese semi-finalists in the AFC Champions League since Shenzhen Jianlibao in 2005.

Muriqui (Luiz Guilherme da Conceição Silva) added a third to claim his tournament-leading ninth goal of the campaign in the 31st minute as Guangzhou showed their class in the opening half before Nam Tae-hee netted a consolation for the home side five minutes into the second period and Elkeson (Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso) claimed his second – and his side’s fourth – in the 72nd minute.

Guangzhou had few problems against a Lekhwiya side that struggled to match the quality of the Chinese side’s South American front three and Lippi’s team will go into next week’s semi-final in a confident frame of mind after a commanding performance.

A foul on Elkeson close to the touchline on the left side of the Lekhwiya penalty are in the 14th minute put the home team on the defensive and, as Conca sent a low, left-footed effort curling towards goal, the ball was missed by everyone before finding its way into the back of the net.

ACL QF (2nd leg): Buriram Utd 1-2 Esteghlal (1-3 agg.)

Buriram: Hanif Omranzadeh and Andranik Teymourian scored in the second half as Iran champions Esteghlal advanced to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League 3-1 on aggregate after recording a 2-1 comeback win over Thailand’s Buriram United in Wednesday’s second leg.
A 38th minute header from Buriram defender Osmar Barba had cancelled out Esteghlal’s slender one-goal advantage from last month’s first leg in Tehran.

But after Omranzadeh bundled home at the start of the second half at Buriram Stadium, Teymourian sealed Esteghlal’s passage with a spectacular long-range strike in stoppage time as the two-time Asian Club Championship winners remained oncourse to add to the titles won in 1970 and 1991 and join Korea Republic’s Pohang Steelers as the only three-time continental champions.

With the match being played amid a carnival atmosphere created by the energetic home support, Esteghlal midfielder Teymourian created the first effort on goal after just five minutes as his rising half volley from the edge of the Buriram area was comfortably dealt with goalkeeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen.

Buriram, though, remained the more adventurous of the two as the home side looked to quickly wipe out their one-goal deficit from the first leg, but Alejandro Menendez’s charges struggled to convert several seemingly promising opportunities into an effort on goal.

ACL QF (2nd leg): Al Shabab 2-2 Kashiwa (3-3 agg.)

Riyadh: A second-half header by Naoya Kondo proved decisive as Kashiwa Reysol became the first Japanese club since 2009 to reach the AFC Champions League semi-finals when they defeated Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab on away goals on Wednesday.
The central defender met Jorge Wagner’s corner in the 73rd minute to give his side a 2-1 lead at the King Fahd International Stadium.

And although the home side levelled the score at 2-2 through Hassan Muath in the closing minutes, it was not enough to prevent Kashiwa from progressing to a last four meeting with Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

Naif Hazazi had put the hosts ahead with a powerful header in the 10th minute but the visitors quickly got back on level terms as Kwak Tae-hwi headed a Ryiochi Kurisawa cross into his own net just three minutes later.

Having played out a lively 1-1 draw in rainy Japan last month, both sides quickly got into their stride in Riyadh with neither willing to sit back in the opening minutes.

Al Shabab had the advantage of an away goal from the first leg and to the delight of their home fans, they took the aggregate lead after 10 minutes when Macnelly Torres’ corner from the right picked out Hazazi, who got between a pair of defender to meet the ball with a bullet header that flew past a helpless Takanori Sugeno into the right corner of the net.

ACL QF (2nd leg): FC Seoul 1-0 Al Ahli (2-1 agg.)

Seoul: A late strike from Dejan Damjanovic gave FC Seoul a 1-0 victory over Al Ahli in the second leg of the 2013 AFC Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday at Seoul World Cup Stadium and put the Korea Republic champions in the semi-final for the first time in their history with a 2-1 aggregate win.
The Montenegrin international striker, who spent a season with Al Ahli in 2006, netted the away goal in the 1-1 draw in Jeddah in the first leg in August and struck with just a minute of time remaining at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The game was tight and tense but Seoul had the lion’s share of chances with the visitors, finalists in 2012, struggling to create clear openings.
Aware of the hosts’ away goal advantage, Al Ahli started with ambition and aggression but after the opening few minutes, Seoul started to look dangerous, especially from a succession of corner kicks and free-kicks.
However, Kim Jin-gyu heading over from a Mauricio Molina cross was as close as the K-League Classic team came in the early exchanges.
The first clear opening came the way of the visitors in the 26th minute. Mustafa Al Bassas collected the ball just outside the area, turned past his marker and shot wide of Kim Yong-dae's right-hand post from 15 yards.
Seoul came closer seven minutes before the break. Cha Du-ri stormed into the box from the right-back position and the 2002 FIFA World Cup star managed to hit a floated cross from Molina over goalkeeper Abdullah Al Muaiouf, only to see the ball bounce back off the crossbar and cleared to safety.

PESTABOLA MERDEKA MATCH #3 : MALAYSIA 3-0 THAILAND (NARATHIWAT FC)

Namun sentuhan penyudah Rozaimi mesti dipertajamkan lagi. Pertemuan Final Pestabola Merdeka kelak menemukan Malaysia u23 dengan Myanmar U23 pada 14 Sept 2013. AYUHLAH HARIMAU MALAYSIA, AYUH AYUH MALAYSIA....!!!!!!!!

PESTABOLA MERDEKA:MALAYSIA 2 -1 MYANMAR

Junior Edstal membuktikan sememangnya dia layak menjadi Man Of The Match keranan usaha kerja keras naik turunnya samada skuad negara memperagakan corak serangan dan mengukuh pertahanan.

THIAGO IN PEP'S RADAR

The 22-year-old is one of Manchester United's top targets this summer, and the club have offered to triple the midfielder's wages should he move to Old Trafford.

Thiago has a buyout clause of €18 million [£15m] until July 31 after not playing the required number of minutes stipulated in his contract last season, and United had appeared on the verge of a deal.

But following rumours of Bayern interest late on Wednesday, Guardiola has now confirmed his desire to bring the Spain Under-21 international to the Allianz Arena.

"I asked Sammer and Rummenigge for the player. I don't know what happens in future but I would like to get him," he told reporters.

"Thiago is the only player I want, that's what I told them. It'll be him or no one.

Harimau Malaya : Closeup

Founded        1933

FIFA affiliation  1956

AFC affiliation   1954

Football arrived in Malaya with the British. The locals soon picked up the game, and before long it was the country's leading sport. Towards the end of the 19th century, football was one of the central pillars of most sports clubs in Malaya. But it was not structured. Even when the Selangor Amateur Football League took shape in 1905 – which ensured proper administration and organization – the competition was confined only to clubs in the Kuala Lumpur area.
In 1921, a national tournament featuring all the states that made up Malaya was started. The competition, known as the Malaya Cup (later renamed the Malaysia Cup in 1963), has been continuously since then, except during the war years.
In 1926 the Selangor Amateur Football League was established, and in 1936 the Football Association of Selangor was formed and this association soon started organizing tournaments and this inspired other states in Malaya to follow suit.
In 1920, the battleship HMS Malaya visited the country. After engaging local opposition in football and rugby, the officers and men of HMS Malaya decided to commemorate the matches by presenting trophies for annual competitions in both rugby and football in Malaya.
In 1926, the Football Associations of Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and the Singapore Amateur Football Association, came together to form the Malayan Football Association (MFA), in order to field a Malayan team against an Australia side that visited Singapore that year.
In 1933, the MFA was revived to form the Football Association of Malaya (FAM). Initially, the FAM was based in Singapore. It was chiefly responsible for the running of the Malaya Cup competition. The annual tournament – played along inter-state lines – was a huge success.
The first president of FAM was Sir Andrew Caldecott followed by M.B. Shelley, Dr. J.S. Webster, S.D. Scott, R. Williamson and Adrian Clark, who served up until 1940 – before Europe went on a full-scale war with Germany . In 1940, control of the FAM moved from Singapore to Malaya, with A.R. Singham becoming the first Asian secretary in 1941.
The FAM's first president after the war was J. King, to be followed by H. Byson, and then Dr. C Rawson, who served for two years before vacating for the first ever non-British personality to take over the helm.
In 1951,  Tunku Abdul Rahman (who was to become the first Prime Minister of Malaysia) became the FAM president. It was under Tunku Abdul Rahman that football in Malaysia entered its next phase, with the FAM taking a much bigger role than just being the backbone in the organisation of the Malaysia Cup.
The FAM was inducted as one of 14 founding members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in 1954, before becoming a full-fledged member of FIFA two years later.
Tunku Abdul Rahman's love for the game was the main catalyst which resulted in the construction of the  Merdeka Stadium and in 1957 it became hallowed ground for all Malaysians when it was the venue chosen to announce Malaysia's independence from Britain.
It also signaled the birth of the Merdeka Tournament (Pestabola Merdeka), that was to all intents and purposes the centre piece of the independence celebrations.
The Merdeka Tournament proved to be a huge success, inspiring similar tournaments like the Jakarta Anniversary tournament, the King’s Cup in Thailand and President's Cup in South Korea. The inaugural tournament – then the premier football competition in Asia – was won by Hong Kong.
However, Malaya won the title three years in a row, in 1958 and in 1959, and sharing it with South Korea in 1960. The country qualified for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Following the change in name to the Football Association of Malaysia in the early 1960s, Tunku Abdul Rahman continued to play a big role in the development of the game through various youth competitions.
Following his departure in 1974, the reins of the FAM was taken over by Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak, who served for just one year. The post was then filled by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Setia Raja Hamzah Haji Abu Samah in 1976, who was the Minister for Trade and Industry at the time.
Between 1976 and 1984, various football activities were introduced under Tan Sri Datuk Seri Raja Hamzah, and Malaysian football reached a new height in the international arena following his appointment as the AFC president.
The FAM entered a new era of modernization and professionalism when His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah took over.
His Royal Highness was integral in the growth of football in the new era with the introduction of the semi-pro league in 1989 before the game went fully professional several years later.
Among the high points in Malaysian football under His Royal Highness was the successful hosting of the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, as well as the organization of the Premier League, which has been called the Malaysia League (M-League) since 2004.
During the glory days of Malaysian football in the 1970s and 80s, names like Mokhtar Dahari, Santokh Singh and Soh Chin Aun would strike fear in teams all over Asia.

Mencengkam Singa

25 Nov, Ahad - Malaysia lwn Singapura - 8:45mlm, Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
28 Nov, Rabu - Laos lwn Malaysia - 8:45mlm - Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

RANKING CHONG WEI TURUN
