Perlawanan yang sangat menarik berjaya dipamerkan oleh kedua-dua pasukan dengan gol Brazil dijaringkan oleh David Luiz minit ke-18 sebelum disamakan oleh Alexis Sanchez minit ke-32. Pada separuh masa pertama dominasi dilihat seimbang diantara kedua-dua pasukan. Memasuki separuh masa kedua pasukan Chile dilihat lebih banyak melakukan serangan ke atas gawang Brazil tetapi berjaya dinafikan dengan gerakan cemerlang Julio Cesar.

Perlawanan yang memasuki masa tambahan bagaimanapun tiada penambahan jaringan dari kedua-dua pasukan. Sepakan penalti menjadi penentu pasukan yang mana akan meneruskan rentak ke suku akhir. AFC Champions League hope

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) are realising local football clubs' dream to play in the 2015 AFC Champions League tournament by introducing a club licensing programme.

Besides boosting local clubs' hopes to play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)'s top tier tournament, FAM Assistant Secretary-General Lazarus Jensen Xavier said the licensing programme was also aimed to promote professionalism among the football clubs in the country.

"We have organised a workshop regarding this licensing programme early today which received positive feedback from a few representatives of local clubs," he told reporters after the workshop at Wisma FAM on Thursday.

Lazarus said the clubs who were interested to apply for the licensing programme must meet five main criteria set by both FAM and AFC namely sportsmanship, personnel and administrative matters, legal compliance, infrastructure and financial aspects.

REVIEW PIALA DUNIA 2014: HONDURAS vs ECUADOR

Persaingan bagi dua pasukan yang telah kalah perlawanan pembukaan Kumpulan E sangat sengit. Honduras mendahului permainan dengan jaringan oleh Carlos Costly tetapi tidak mampu untuk teruskan rentak kemenangan. Dengan permulaan 10 minit pertama adalah seimbang antara kedua-dua pasukan sehinggalah minit ke-30 Carlos Costly berjaya memperdayakan Dominguez untuk gol pertama Honduras. The build-up to this Group E match was dominated by talk of how Switzerland's rigid defence would nullify France's fluid attack. Yet in the end, Les Bleus ran out comfortable winners, with their forward trio doing huge damage to Switzerland's chances of making the last 16.

Giroud may have only hit the target with 1 of his 3 shots, but he provided an aerial outlet when his team were under pressure and also made a surging run that helped created Mathieu Valbeuna's goal.

Sekali lagi, Arena Fonte Nova menjadi saksi kemenangan Germany ke atas Portugal dengan jaringan besar 4 gol berbalas 0. The Selecao’s star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been struggling with both tendonitis and a thigh problem for the past two months and, despite making his return to action in Tuesday’s final World Cup warm-up clash against Republic of Ireland, the attacker was twice forced to cut short his participation in training in recent days.

Consequently, Bento must decide whether to risk the fitness of the Ballon d’Or holder in a game that could determine the winner of Group G, or keep the attacker in reserve for the subsequent and more winnable clashes with the USA and Ghana. 

Bento’s Germany counterpart, Joachim Low, has his own selection conundrums but has already made two big calls that have significant effects on his side's approach to the game. 

Firstly, with doubts over the fitness of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira, the versatile Philipp Lahm will start not at fullback but in midfield, where he is most likely to be joined by Toni Kroos. The latter is a favorite of Low’s and will definitely start, either alongside Lahm or on the left, where a void has been left by the tournament-ending injury suffered by Marco Reus. However, the early signs are that Lukas Podolski will play out wide.

What is known for certain is that Miroslav Klose will not spearhead the attack. The Lazio hitman is the only striker in Germany’s squad but Low has already confirmed that the 36-year-old, who has had his own injury issues of late, will start on the bench, meaning Thomas Muller will lead the line.

In the back, meanwhile, Benedikt Howedes is expected to get the nod ahead of Erik Durm in Germany’s problem position of left back, with Jerome Boateng on the opposite flank.
